Paper Talk: Lazio line up Liverpool midfielder to replace Biglia; Ex Man City defender close to joining Roma

Lazio are ready to make a move for Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva. According to La Repubblica, the 30-year-old Brazilian is the player that coach Simone Inzaghi has lined up as the replacement for Lucas Biglia who is close to making the switch to AC Milan. The Argentine arrived for his pre-season medical with the Biancocelesti this week despite the two clubs trying to finalise a deal.

Reports began to surface in the UK press on Wednesday that the club from the Italian capital were ready to open negotiations for Leiva although both clubs were keen to stress that no agreement had been reached so far. Leiva has been at Anfield for 10 years now but looks to be surplus to requirements in Jurgen Klopp’s new-look side.
