Roma are preparing to discuss a contract extension with Everton target Kevin Strootman. The Corriere dello Sport claims that the 26-year-old Dutchman is eager to remain in the Italian capital despite rumours of a possible move to the Premier League in January.

Strootman has always maintained that he owes a debt of gratitude to the giallorossi who have stuck by him during two lengthy lay-offs due to knee surgery. His current deal expires in 2018 with any new agreement due to keep him in the Eternal City until 2021/22.

MILAN IN THE HUNT FOR ZAZA:
Simone Zaza has made nine appearances for West Ham United since his summer loan move from Juventus and has yet to find the target. If he plays at the weekend against Stoke City, it will trigger a buy-out clause of £17 million that the Hammers will have to pay the Serie A champions. Reports in the Corriere della Sera state that the Milan are planning a January assault on the 25-year-old, who has struggled to adapt to the English game under coach Slaven Bilic. The rossoneri were linked with his services in the summer and the Premier League club may look to off-load the Italian as soon as possible.
