Perisic leaves Inter training camp for health reasons as Man Utd continue their pursuit

Croatian midfielder Ivan Perisic has not had the best start to his pre-season training. The 28-year-old has been the subject of huge speculation over a proposed summer move to Manchester United with the player himself already reported to have agreed personal terms with the Premier League giants.

The Red Devils had hoped to complete the deal before they jetted off themselves to the US to start their summer tour and judging by the photographs of yesterday’s Nerazzurri team gathering at Riscone, Perisic also wishes he was stateside with Jose Mourinho’s team.

Now there is another problem for the Croat who has had to leave Inter’s training camp today due to a tooth abscess which has once again ramped up the rumour mill that a move to Old Trafford is imminent.

To recap; United are ready to pay €45M for the player whereas Inter are holding out for €55M. New boss Luciano Spalletti wants Perisic to stay but has already stated that he will not stand in his way should United match the club’s transfer fee. With an unhappy player on his hands, Jose Mourinho has instructed CEO Ed Woodward (who has remained behind in Manchester) to get the deal done and deliver him one of his priority summer targets.
