Real Madrid back for Man United star with €56m bid

It looks like the Madrid – Manchester axis is just warming up, if the latest report from the Mirror is accurate.

According to reporter David McDonnell, Real Madrid are planning another swoop for goalkeeper David De Gea.

Jose Mourinho has already steadfastly opposed any move for the star shotstopper, who has dropped hints before about returning to his homeland, where he famously plied his trade for Atletico Madrid.

The Merengues are preparing a 56 million for the Spaniard, which would him make him the most expensive goalkeeper of all time, far outshining Gianluigi Buffon’s 42m move to Juventus back in 2001.

The two sides looked to have agreed to a swap deal for Keylor Navas back in 2015, only for the move to fall through at the last moment.

The two sides won’t be able to involve Alvaro Morata in the deal anymore, seeing as the Red Devils found the striker they wanted in Romelu Lukaku.

Morata was one of the two players Jose Mourinho had asked for in exchange for his goalkeeper, the other being French international Raphael Varane.
