Breaking: Real Madrid reach agreement with Monaco for Mbappe - the details of the operation

Reports from Spain state that Real Madrid has reached an agreement in principal with Monaco for teenage striking sensation Kylian Mbappe. According to sports daily Marca, Los Blancos will pay the club from the principality an initial €150/160M plus a further €20/30M in bonuses to bring the 18-year-old to the Santiago Bernabeu. Mbappe is understood to be ready to sign a six-year deal in the Spanish capital worth €7M net per-season.

The youngster has been one of the hottest names on the transfer market this summer and if these latest reports are true, it will end one of the most intense competitions to land an individual in recent years. Real has always reportedly been in pole-position to secure Mbappe’s services ever since the player himself declared that he’d always dreamed of wearing the famous all-white strip.

Despite recent reports also stating that it was possible that the French international would remain in place at Monaco for another 12 months, it seems as though the next step on his career path is ready to be taken.
