Real Madrid target: Chelsea contract talks have stalled

Thibault Courtois claims that negotiations with Chelsea have stalled.

Speaking to the Telegraph, the Real Madrid target also said that he was focussing on the current season.

He has a deal running with the club until 2019, but this isn’t the first time that there have been grumblings from that direction, with Real just one team interested in the Belgian’s services.

Speaking ahead of the Blues’ Champions League tie with Qarabag, the Belgian international claimed that “the most important thing is to play well, both for me and my team.

“My deal? Chelsea should discuss it with my agent. I don’t think that there has been progress in the talks. We have many games and I prefer to focus on that, and on my performances.”

The Blues goalkeeper wants to be paid £200.000 a week, double his current salary and level with Eden Hazard, the top earner in the Premier League.
