Report: Arturo Vidal agreed to return to Italy last summer

Reports indicate that out-of-favor Bayern Munich forward Arturo Vidal agreed to join Inter Milan this past summer, but the deal was never consummated.

Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio, and technical director Walter Sabatini convinced him to join, what is known as, the Three S’s (Suning ownership, Spalletti, and the San Siro). Though the deal was not completed at the end of the summer transfer period, talks have re-heated of late.

The door is open for the Chilean to make his return to northern Italy this winter, or next summer. Vidal joined the Bavarian club after a successful career with Juventus, in which he reached the Champions League final in his last season with the Bianconeri.

Inter Milan is expected to add reinforcements to their side this January as they continue their push to bring the Scudetto back to Milan. Arsenal’s Shkodran Mustafi, former Chelsea midfielder Ramires, and PSG’s Javier Pastore have all been linked to moves to the San Siro this winter.
