Ricardo Rodriguez: ‘How AC Milan can beat Napoli’

Ricardo Rodriguez did not have the best possible start to the season as the Swiss International has put down a few disappointing performances for the rossoneri. His biggest mistake was arguably the foul he committed in the final minutes of the derby clash against Inter that allowed the nerazzurri to seal a crucial 3-2 win at the San Siro.

The Swiss International talked to Corriere dello Sport on the eve of the game.
“We want to win, that’s our only objective, we have some quality players and a win would be important for us, we need a win to continue our path. Even if we lose, however, we should be ready to react and remember football always offers a new chance.”

“It will be important to remain united, compact and focused for the whole game. Our defensive approach will be very important. Also, we must make sure to make the most of the goal chances we’ll create because we won’t have much.”

“Callejon is a very good player, but I play to be better than my opponents. Each one of their striker is dangerous and they are also very strong in the middle of the pitch. I’d like to score a goal of course but I will also be happy to win with an own goal.”

“We are battling it out to qualify for the Champions League, our objective is to arrive as close as possible to the top. Penalty kick against Inter? I think it was no foul although it was a tough decision by the referee.”
