Sevilla eyeing out of favor Milan defender

Rumors out of Spain via eldesmarque.com, have a new idea in defense for Sevilla. The reports are linking the La Liga club with a move for Colombian defender Cristian Zapata. The current Milan player, according to Calciomercato, has no intention of leaving the Rossoneri this summer. But with the incoming Leo Bonucci, perhaps Zapata will be considering an offer that gives him more frequent playing time.

Milan have nearly revamped their entire starting lineup thus far through their summer market strategy, most importantly bringing in Bonucci from Juventus after six consecutive Scudetti. As Romagnoli looks poised to keep his spot alongside Bonucci in the middle of Milan’s defense, this could be a push for Zapata to rethink his situation, especially when taking the incoming Musacchio into consideration as well.

As the World Cup approaches and Colombia rely on their stars to maintain top form as South American qualification continues, Zapata needs to evaluate his situation with Milan. At this point should Sevilla enter with an attractive proposal, it may be in Zapata’s best interest to move to Spain.
