Sevilla manager sparks epic comeback against Liverpool by admitting he has cancer

Sevilla FC announced, via their official website, that manager Eduardo Berizzo has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The announcement came only hours after he led his club to a remarkable Champions League comeback against Liverpool.

Players speaking after the match admitted that Berizzo told them about the diagnosis at halftime, at which point they were trailing the English giants 3-0. We had to come out with a different attitude for the fans and for the boss, he made us play like that," Ever Banega said following the match, in which they scored thrice in the second half, including a stoppage time equalizer to see out a 3-3 draw.

Per the club’s official statement:

“The medical services of Sevilla FC report that the coach of the first team, Eduardo Berizzo, has been diagnosed with an adenocarcinoma of the prostate. Future examinations will allow us to decide what steps to follow regarding its treatment.”

"Sevilla FC wants to show its full support for the coach right now and wishes him a speedy recovery."
