Simeone personally negotiates transfer of Man Utd midfielder with Mourinho

With Diego Costa being allowed to sign for the Los Colchoneros when their transfer ban expires in January, Simeone is looking to strenghten his midfield and see's the Spaniard as the perfect addition to the squad.
Herrera's contract with Manchester United is set to expire at the end of June 2018 but Simeone wants to make a move now in order to thwart the competition as well as revitalize his squad which have made a sluggish start to the season. This is why, according to the report, Simeone has started talking directly with Mourinho, in the most discrete way possible, in order for the former Real Madrid coach to faciliate the move. El Cholo is trying to convince Mourinho to allow the player who is not in Mourinho's first team plans to leave and free up a slot in the Manchester United squad.
