Stefano Sorrentino, who played like football’s equivalent of Superman on Sunday afternoon against Roma, has made some disturbing claims in the aftermath of his heroic display: Some Roma fans threatened me with death and wished all kinds of ill upon me,” he told the Corriere di Verona. “Unfortunately, people must learn to use social media properly because sometimes it generates so much hatred.” The flurry of abuse came after Sorrentino made a series of saves which ultimately earned Chievo a 0-0 draw at home to the Giallorossi.
