Spanish midfielder set to sign lucrative new deal at Manchester United - the details

In a Sunday exclusive, Starsport claims that Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera is set to sign a lucrative new deal with Manchester United. The 27-year-old, who has become a firm favourite of the fans at Old Trafford since arriving in 2014, has just one year left on his current contract but that looks set to be resolved shortly.

The journal writes that Herrera will pen a new four-year agreement worth £200,000-a-week which would ensure the player would earn a whopping £41.6M over the length of the deal. This will make the Spaniard one of the highest earners at Old Trafford and it’s believed the Red Devils will announce the renewal during their tour of the US which started with a 5-2 win over LA Galaxy on Saturday evening.

Boss Jose Mourinho knows how vital Herrera is to the club and has now made him vice-captain to Michael Carrick, who is the new club captain after the departure of Wayne Rooney.
