Torino lining up deal for Milan defender

CM.com’s Daniele Longo reports that Gabriel Paletta is close to leaving Milan to enter into the Torino project. The Italian-Argentine is ready to say yes to the Granata offer of a three-year contract worth just under 1 million EUR. The player also had the attention of Genoa and Atalanta, but it appears the defender is about to become a new Torino player. At age 31 Paletta will want to tie down a starting role once again, and a three year deal with the Granata offers him that opportunity.

Paletta has endured an up and down tenure in Milan, where he formed a partnership early on with the young Italian Romagnoli. The duo at times showed an astute balance between athleticism and intelligent defending, and both have shown the ability to pass out of the back. But there were nearly just as many disastrous moments for the former Atalanta, who had a hard time staying out of the referee’s book this season, racking up four suspensions on the year.
