Two reasons why PSG won't sign Coutinho

Catalans giants FC Barcelona are reportedly closer to signing Liverpool superstar Phillipe Coutinho than rivals Paris Saint-Germain, who are also after the Brazilian playmaker.

It appears that two reasons will not allow the Parisiens to sign Coutinho, who was a subject of multiple bids from Barcelona this past summer but ended up staying at Anfield.

The first reason is the boundaries set by Financial Fair Play or FFP,which will not allow PSG to spend more money after their expensive acquisitions of both Kylian Mbappe and Neymar this past summer. Because of that, Barcelona don’t have financial restrictions to abide by.

The second problem for Unai Emery’s side is that Coutinho didn’t like the offer that PSG made as the Paris-based club was offering a salary that was six millions euros less than what Barcelona were offering.

It is said that Liverpool are more comfortable in selling Coutinho to Barcelona since advanced talks regarding a possible sale of their prized asset have already taken place this past summer.
