Valencia deny contact with Man Utd for midfield star

La Liga giants Valencia have denied contact with Manchester United for the sale of Carlos Soler to the Old Trafford, if reports from SuperDeporte are to be believed.

Reports from the English media and especially the Daily Mail were suggestive of the fact that Jose Mourinho’s men are interested in acquiring the services of the Spaniard and are willing to pay a fee in the region of 30 million pounds for the midfielder.

The English media also said that Jose Mourinho sees Soler to be the perfection alternative to the duo of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic, with the futures of Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera not really sorted and Michael Carrick on the brink of retiring.

Valencia though, have played down rumors of contact with Premier League giants. The club said: "We have had no contact with anyone for any player in the team."

It seems strange for Valencia to consider a 30 million pound offer, considering the fact that Soler has a release clause of 80 million euros and signed a new contract with the Mestalla based club till 2021 last season only.
