Video: Ventura admits he will resign as Italy boss

Italy boss Giampiero Ventura refused to resign yesterday night after Italy’s failed World Cup qualification. The azzurri won’t play the World Cup for the second time in history but Ventura failed to hand his resignations in.

“The manager is always the main responsible when there are no results. I thought we would have made it but I haven’t resigned yet, I still need to talk to president [Tavecchio]. I am proud to have been part of this group, I am proud to have coached great champions and future champions, we’ll decide what to do.”

According to Sky Sport, the Italy boss won’t resign but the Italian FA will be forced to sack him tomorrow.
The Italian tactician, however, had a very quick chat with Le Iene and when he was asked if he can promise he will resign, Ventura simply replied: “Yes”.

Members of the Italian FA will meet tomorrow in Rome but Ventura won’t attend the meeting, Carlo Tavecchio has confirmed.
