Mancini want to prevent Jo-jo from playing with Montenegro

A nervous Roberto Mancini took questions from the media in a pre-match press conference ahead of Serie A day 7 in which Inter will face former Nerazzurri goalkeeper and new Blucerchiati manager Walter Zenga.

Inter manager showed his restless spirit last Sunday too, after that Fiorentina smashed his side 1-4 in a San Siro clash. However, Mancini seem not to have lost any sleep over last week collapse: “It was a strange defeat, but that’s something you can expect in football. Nevertheless lads have had a good reaction, even when they were down two or three goals. With 15 points in six matches, I don’t think the last result is going to be a problem for us.”

Focusing on tomorrow’s match, former Manchester City manager showed some annoyance over the media’s questions about the system he will adopt in the Marassi clash: “You are always talking about the three or four men defense. Someone doesn’t know what to talk about. If we lose, it doesn’t depend on the system. We lose if we make mistakes or because our opponents have done better than us. You are always talking about things that are not making any difference in a football game.”

Roberto Mancini is a true legend at Marassi, where he spent the most gratifying spell of his playing career. Between 1982 and 1997 he scored 132 goals, enhancing the Blucerchiati showcase with one Scudetto, one Italian Super Cup, one UEFA Cup and four Coppa Italia. Ironically, on the other bench, there will be sitting an Inter legend such as Walter Zenga. Former Italian national team goalkeeper was a product of the Nerazzurri academy. In his 22 years stretch at San Siro he won a Scudetto, one Italian Super Cup and two UEFA Cups.

“I’m happy to play against Walter [Zenga] – Mancini told the press. He is a friend of mine and we played lot of matches, both together and against. I am happy he is finally back in Italy. Playing in Marassi is always a great honor for me as I spent there some of the most important years of my career.”

Mancini has used no diplomacy talking about the Stevan Jovetic hassle, since the Montenegrin has received a call-up from his National team, despite a minor injury: “I don’t care about the call-up. Stevan [Jovetic] is injured, otherwise he would have played tomorrow. He knows himself what is better for him. I’d prefer to work with him the next ten days to prepare better the game against Juventus”.
