    Liverpool are looking to sign a new centre back this summer with the Reds that have se sights on Barcelona’s Jeremy Mathieu.

    According to Le Parisien, Klopp has entered talks with the French defender and could propose him a one-year-deal with the option for a second year if he impress. Mathieu can both play as centre-back or wingback.

    Liverpool’s defenders are already struggling with injuries this summer: Joe Gomez and Mahmadou Sakho have been ruled out for several weeks with two different injuries, Martin Skrtel has just moved to Fenerbache which means Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip are the only two centre defenders left in the squad.

    Manchester United are also looking to strengthen their defence. José Mourinho has set sights on former Napoli right-back Fabinho and is reportedly ready to make an offer up to £ 22 million for the Brazilian right back currently under contract with AS Monaco.

    Fabinho is Brazil’s second choice for the right-flank after Dani Alves and his move to the Old Trafford might be facilitated by Jorge Mendes who is the representative of both the player ad José Mourinho.
