Abbiati: "Milan, a dramatic situation"

Having taken the applause of the San Siro on Saturday evening after announcing the end of his playing career at the club after 15 years, goalkeeper Christian Abbiati spoke to the Milan Channel earlier today. He explained that; “It was an emotion I find hard to describe, to see all your friends and family on the sidelines was thrilling for me”.

ON THE BENCH
The 38-year-old continued by revealing that; “I was in agreement with Brocchi that I would enter in the last 5 minutes. He asked me before the game if I wanted to start but I told him no because I did not think I’d have the concentration levels required in an important game against a team like Roma. I asked him if there was the possibility of entering the last 5 minutes, but I was the first to tell him not to put me on when I realised the situation was becoming dramatic".

THE FUTURE
He concluded by explaining that; “Now we just look towards Saturday’s (Coppa Italia) final, it’s an important game for us and I would love to bow out by winning a trophy. After the summer I will then sit down with Galliani and decide my future”.
