AC Milan: Ancelotti jumps to top of shortlist for Montella’s potential replacements

Bayern Munich have sacked Carlo Ancelotti and this news should really concern Vincenzo Montella. The Italian tactician is on the brink after two defeats in the opening six Serie A games and although the Aeroplanino has claimed that he is still feeling the support of the board, Marco Fassone’s strong criticisms after the Sampdoria loss prove the board and the manager are not on very good terms.

Ancelotti is now available and AC Milan are due to face to strong challenged in the next few weeks. After tonight’s clash against Reijka, the rossoneri will face Roma and Inter, two games that Montella can’t really miss because a few negative results would put is situation in even more danger and with Ancelotti who is now at home waiting for a call, the position of the AC Milan boss is not the most comfortable ever.

Montella was appointed as AC Milan boss in summer 2015 and he has a clause in his contract that allows the club to sack him if he fails to qualify for Champions League this season.
