AC Milan Dream of Conte

AC Milan coach Vincenzo Montella is currently going through difficult period. The poor results and performance first against Sampdoria and then Roma over the weekend led to director of sport Mirabelli and Fassone to have crisis talks yesterday to discuss his future at the club.

Montella has been reassured that he is safe however he must deliver in AC Milan’s next match which happens to be the derby against Inter. Montella must steer them to a win or at least a draw. The average performance of the attacking department as shown in the first 20 mins of the game against Roma needs to be improve or Montella will be treading thin ground.

It is difficult to think of a credible coach who could immediately come in to take over, bar Ancelotti who has declined to take any roles until next season.  According to Corriere dello Sport the Rossoner are head hunting Chelsea coach Antonio Conte and priming for his return.

Conte has reiterated his desire to return to Italy and if his season at Chelsea is anything but a successful could see a yes from the former Juventus coach.

It will also depend on AC Milan gaining qualification to the Champions League which is considered key to attracting a top tier coach.
