AC Milan, latest updates on midfield targets Fabregas and Badelj

AC Milan will be looking to strengthen their midfield in the January window as the rossoneri urge to sign a long time replacement for Riccardo Montolivo who will only return to action at the end of the season with an ACL tea picked up during the International break.

Today’s edition of Tuttosport reports that Milan executives Fassone and Mirabelli used yesterday’s trip to South-West London to begin negotiations with Chelsea over wantawat star Cesc Fabregas.

The Spaniard’s salary is probably still too high for the finances of the rossoneri side, but Mirabelli and Fassone still want to make an attempt to see if they have any chance to seal the former Barcelona and Arsenal midfielder.

Fabregas, however, is not the priority of Vincenzo Montella who would rather prefer the signing of Fiorentina ace Milan Badelj who will not extend his contract expiring in 2018.

La Nazione reports that AC Milan will meet representatives of Fiorentina next week to make an opening bid for the Croatian playmaker.

In a recent survey made by calciomercato.com on Twitter, Milan fans have said that Cesc Fabregas is the midfielder they would sign in January.
