AC Milan, Marco Fassone flying to China next week to meet new owners

AC Milan CEO Marco Fassone will be travelling to China next Monday to meet new owners and lay out plans for the club’s future, Sky Italia has reported.

Fassone was supposed to fly to China two weeks ago, but his trip to the Far East was cancelled and the former Inter and Juventus GM travelled to London instead where he watched Chelsea-Leicester City from the stands of the Stamford Bridge alongside Massimo Mirabelli.

Calciomercato.com spotted Fassone and Mirabelli in front of the Stamford Bridge, minutes before the game’s kick off.

What’s the purpose of Fassone’s trip to China? Fassone is not only going to meet new Chinese owners, but has also scheduled several meetings with potential new sponsors who could enhance the club’s finances.
Sino-Europe is expected to complete the club’s takeover by the 20th of November, just before the Milan’s derby which is set to be the first one in the history of the game with two foreign ownerships running both clubs.
