AC Milan, Montella: ‘Ancelotti? He can be my assistant…’

AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella took part to a press conference held on Thursday night after the rossoneri 3-2 win over Rijeka. The Serie A giants sealed the three points thanks to a late goal netted by Patrick Cutrone.

“It was a great joy for me, I am proud of what the team did. I was a bit angry with Bonucci because he is the captain and the most experienced player we have. That’s why I reproached him.”

“We have to improve the way we manage games. Today we’ve taken a very important step winning a hard game. I liked the spirit and the commitment of the lads, I’m proud of what they did to achieve this result.”

Montella’s AC Milan will now face Roma and Inter in Serie A and a negative result in either of the next two games may convince the club’s board to sack Montella to hire Ancelotti who was sacked by Bayern Munich yesterday.

Montella, however, seems to be not too worried by the competition of his compatriot. “I really respect Ancelotti, he is the first manager I visited when I started my managerial career, I remember he was at Chelsea and he asked me to become his assistant. Now, iff he wants, he can become my assistant instead", Montlla said with a smile on his face.
