Agent confirms Lavezzi can join Serie A as a free agent
The 30-year-old is not eager to renew his contract expiring in 2016 with PSG, although a Parc des Princes January exit is not on the cards.
“Lavezzi misses Italy and there is a chance that of seeing him back in Serie A ”, Mr. Mazzoni told the journalists.
“His first choice has always been Napoli, but it seems that president Aurelio de Laurentiis has other plans, so I would rule out his San Paolo comeback. Naples is like a second home to him.”
“I imagine Lavezzi and Higuain partnering up-front, but only with Argentina. It is a fact that in the last few years Mr. de Laurentiis purchased more European players than South-Americans.”
“I don’t think that Lavezzi will leave PSG in January, he might remain at the club until June. There are two-three sides - which are also Napoli’s direct rivals - that have strong chance of signing him next season.”
Serie A giants Inter, Milan and Juventus are strongly interested in the player's services and there is little doubt that Lavezzi's agent words refer to these two teams.
“I understand that watching Lavezzi playing with another jersey could be very sad for Napoli’s supporters, but I hope they’ll understand him.”
