Agent: 'Infront is like a squid, it has its fingers in every pie!'

Our recent interview with noted football agent Dino Canovi has produced some fiery quotes, with Nestor Sensini's former agent alleging that Roma pretty much had Maurizio Sarri in the bag last year, before someone based in America put a stop to the courtship.

Now, he gives both guns to Infront, the company whose somewhat controversial role in the distribution of Serie A's TV rights has raised a few eyebrows.

"Numerous centres of power have emerged in football" Canovi told us "Infront, for example, buy TV rights, but aren't beyond buying football clubs either, they're like a squid, its tentacles are everywhere, it's creating a lot of confusion.

"This isn't to say that everything about modern football is bad. I was very happy when Crotone were promoted, that'll show those who think that the league should be the preserve of big cities.

"Few have noticed that a lot of recently promoted sides are mostly made up of Italian players, whether it's Crotone, Carpi or Sassuolo. They don't have great financial means, it's not a coincidence if Juventus win the title year after year and that Inter and Roma - who have a lot of strangers - do not".
