Agent of Zaza: "He was wanted by Napoli, then we heard nothing"

The father and agent of Simone Zaza has been speaking to Tuttonapoli.net about the final days of the transfer window and how his son almost ended up playing for the vesuviani. He began by stating that; “Simone was happy in Turin but he decided he needed a change because he needed more playing time and Juventus could not guarantee this”.

    THE CASE OF NAPOLI:
“With Napoli there was strong interest but then suddenly there was nothing for what reasons, the club never explained. We had a long chat with (Sporting Director) Giuntoli and we found an agreement and were told they would contact us within 24-48 hours;  then nothing”.

    JUVE UNHAPPY AT NAPOLI SWITCH:
He continued by declaring that; “As far as I’m aware, Juventus were not happy at the thought of him going to a rival Serie A club. I don’t really know the figures involved but I know for certain that Napoli wanted Simone”.

    BETTER AT WEST HAM:
“Simone never refused Napoli and on a human level he was treated appallingly, let’s be clear, he would have gladly worn the shirt of the vesuviani. Thankfully, he had many other clubs interested and the proposal of West Ham was impressive, a really big project”.
