Allegri: ‘We don’t need ten new signings. Juve like Bayern and Barça, I don’t see why Morata and Pogba should leave’

Here’s what Massimiliano Allegri told journalists ahead of Juventus’ Serie A clash against Verona and one day after the announcement of his contract extension with Juventus.

“We have no time to think about the transfer market. Juventus have always built competitive teams, our squad is very young now and with a bright future ahead.”

“We’ll only need to sign two or three players, we don’t need ten new faces. We can still improve, but it is difficult to do it because our squad is already very competitive. Next year’s squad must be composed by 23 players including Marchisio and three goalkeepers.

“I haven’t talked to Pogba and Morata about their future, we still need to focus on the last 20 days of the season. Juventus is at the same level of Bayern, Barcelona, Real and Atletico, I don’t see why they would ask to leave.”

“Buffon will not travel with the rest of the team as Neto needs to get playing time. We’ll play with him, Rugani, Bonucci, Barzagli, Padoin or Cuadrado, Sturaro or Pereyra, Lemina, Asamoah, Alex Sandro, Zaza and Dybala. If Cuadrado plays, then also Sturaro will, otherwise Padoin will start alongside Pereyra.”

“Some Primavera players could be promoted to senior team next season, Lirola is one of those, but we’ll evaluate our youths during the summer training camp and the tournament in Australia.”

“I haven’t seen Berlusconi’s video, I know AC Milan will play a great final.”

“I hope Toni won’t score against us because we want to finish the season in the best way possible, improving our goal difference.”

“I want to congratulate with both him and Di Natale for their careers. I am also happy for Cagliari’s promotion to Serie A and I hope Livorno (his hometown) and Pescara will snatch their targets.”

“I hope I am going to stay more than two years, but we have to think day by day and step by step. We’ll try to make it all the way through the Champions League, which doesn’t mean we are going to win it, because there are too many factors influencing the tournament. We’ll play to win the 6th successive Serie A title. No one has ever done it before, we’ll play to become legends.”
