ANALYSIS: Seven options for Milan's flank

  • M.G.
As explained by calciomercato.com, the game lost to Juventus has confirmed that AC Milan are not ready to compete at high levels and has shown that the rossoneri still have many problems, especially regarding their team’s flank.

As a left back, Luca Antonelli is doing quite well, while on the opposite flank Mihajlovic has more problems to solve: Ignazio Abate is out of shape, while Mattia De Sciglio has proven –also in the national team- to do better on the left.

A solution could be recovering the young Davide Calabria, also considering the fact that the next four games don’t seem too difficult.

And, in any case, after these four games, the rossoneri will be able to sign some new players. Regarding the right flank, Torino 25-year-old Bruno Peres and Udinese 22-year-old Silvan Widmer, but both players are worth at least 10 million euros and the Swiss is also a target for Juventus, as well as Sassuolo 23-year-old Sime Vrsaljko.

For what concerns the opposite flank, Cagliari 20-year-old Antonio Barreca is a concrete option, while it seems more difficult to obtain Lorient 22-year-old Raphael Guerrero.

On the other hand, it wouldn’t be the first time that Galliani finds a low cost occasion, and in that case two options could be Gregory van der Wiel and Branislav Ivanovic, both about to become free agents.
