ANALYSIS: Zaza could be Juve's right man

To make his team competitive again, Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri must make another step. And such step is recovering his offensive line. There are still too many uncertainties that influence the coach’s choices and the players’ performances. Which one is Allegri’s favorite duo? And which are the best combinations? Difficult to answer.

I repeat: it depends a lot from Cuadrado. If the Colombian will start to score some goals and to make more decisive passes, the offensive line’s problems will disappear. Otherwise, they will keep on influencing Juve until the end of the season.

The one of Simone Zaza could be the right name. Since he refused to join West Ham, the situation has changed. Before he was somebody that could be sold, now he deserves Allegri’s attention.

He’s a tough person. He refused to move to England to change Allegri’s mind. He’s about to succeed in his attempt. His physical and technical skills could have been useful against Inter. Not everything has worked out. But the first signal has been sent. Morata remains the first option to lead the offensive line. But he is anyway a very young player, with all the contradictions shown by his same-aged player, including Pogba. Mandzukic is recovering from his injury, but he needs some particular tactical choices. Dybala considers himself a striker, while Allegri sees him as a second forward.

So, Zaza should have more minutes and more confidence. He’s got the right determination to succeed. So, my advice: wait before considering him a failure. As soon as he will feel the confidence, he will show all his technical skills. And maybe regain his position even in the Italian national team.
