Antonio Conte agrees contract extension with Chelsea

Previous reports in Italy had suggested that Antonio Conte could have been on the brink of sacking due to some misunderstandings with representatives of the Premier League giants. On the one hand Chelsea executives were not left impressed by the manager’s text message sent to Diego Costa to tell him that he was not part of the club’s future.

On the other hand, the Italian was not happy with the club’s transfer strategies and after several days of intense negotiations, the two parties seem to have solved their problems.

According to Sky Italia, Conte has agreed to sign a contract extension with Chelsea until 2020. The former Juventus boss is going to have a huge pay rise given that his salary will be in the region of € 10 million-a-year.

The Blues are now ready for the beginning of the summer transfer campaign with Conte who expects the club to bring in several top players who can help the team to be credible contenders for both the Premier League and the Champions League.
