Arsenal and Barcelona concerned by Inter January shopping list

Inter are desperate to sign a new centre-back and a top class midfielder in January as Luciano Spalletti is short of options at the back and needs more quality in the opponents’ final third. Today’s edition of Tuttosport reports the nerazzurri four-man midfielder shortlist and both Arsenal and Barcelona should be very concerned by the transfer activity of the Serie A giants. Here’s which midfielders are on the nerazzurri January shopping list.

JAVIER PASTORE – The Argentinean is being struggling with game time and wants to play more consistently as this is a World Cup year. Psg don’t want to sell but the player may push to leave Paris and join the nerazzurri as he would be a regular starter there. The player can either move to the San Siro on loan or on a permanent deal.

MESUT OZIL – Arsenal are concerned by the interest of the nerazzurri as the contract of Ozil expires in 2018. The Gunners will do everything they can to extend the player’s stay and Inter would only sign the Germany star if he’d take a pay-cut. His current salary, in fact, is too expensive for the nerazzurri.

ALEX TEIXEIRA – A former Liverpool target who is now failing to impress in China. The Brazilian is not playing on a regular basis due to regulations about foreign players. It would be easy for Inter to sign him either on loan or on a permanent deal as Suning owns the team Teixeira is playing for, Jiangsu Suning.

LEON GORETZKA – Another top class midfielder whose contract expires at the end of the season. German sources claim the player has already agreed to move to Bayern Munich but both Barcelona and Inter are keeping tabs on the Germany starlet. Inter will make an attempt to sign him on the cheap in January as the player won’t sign a new contract with Schalke 04.
