Arsenal boss Wenger insists that Sanchez will stay

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that his star man Alexis Sanchez will remain put at the club, despite months of speculation linking the 28-year-old with a move away from the Emirates stadium.

According to the Daily Mail, Wenger squashed the rumours and even commented on Sanchez’s recent quotes, suggesting that he would want to live his dream of winning the Champions League – something he cannot do with the Gunners next year, as they missed out on a fourth spot.

'We have played for 20 years in the Champions League,' said the Arsenal boss. 'That's 17 years before Sanchez arrived and three years with him. So he can get us back in there.

'When you play in the Champions League, everyone says: Is that all you do? Suddenly when you don't play in there it becomes a major problem.

'At the end of the season, only one team can win the Champions League.
'We have to focus on the competitions we play in and prepare seriously for that. We can't feel sorry for what we do not play.'
