Arsenal join Spurs, Man United in race for £50m star

Arsenal have joined the race for Ross Barkley, who wants to leave Everton.

Manchester United and Tottenham are the main clubs sniffing around the attacking midfielder, who told the Toffees that he wouldn’t sign a new deal with them last season.

This has led Ronald Koeman to look for a replacement, and to count on alternatives - one of which could be new £20 million signing Davy Klaassen.

With Tottenham considered to be the main pursuer, Manchester United re-entered the race recently, though they only value the 23-year-old at around £20 million, a similar price to Tottenham’s valuation. It’s a pity that Everton only value him at £50m.

The scorer of six goals in all competitions and the provider of eight assists, Barkley was reported to want to become Tottenham’s most-paid player, though those reports have since been found to be inaccurate.

Either way, he is said to have rejected £100.000-a-week from Everton in order to stay.
