Arsenal, Juventus target Boschilia, the ‘New Juninho’ who is thriving at Monaco

Who is Juventus target Gabriel Boschilia?

Born in 1996, the youngster has taken Ligue 1 by storm this season, netting four goals and adding an assist in the French top flight.

Acquired for 10 million in 2015 by the Monegasque side, the Brazilian has shined of late. Fabio Paratici discovered him three years ago, at the Under-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, where he scored six times in four games.

Neither Arsenal or Juventus were willing to spend that much last summer,  and they seemed to have got it right when Boschilia was sent to Standard Liege to play more. He scored two goals and added two more assists in twelve games.

A particular specialty of his? The free kick, which has contributed three of his four strikes. Hence the nickname, inspired by the legend who played for eight years with Lyon.

One detail about him: a funny quote on how expensive Monaco is: “I would tremble when the bill would arrive, I’d convert everything from Euros to Reais. I was even careful when I got a coke!”
