Arsenal make opening bid for Danish defender amid Inter, AC Milan links

Arsenal are reported to have launched an opening bid to sign former Roma and Palermo star Simon Kjaer who is currently contracted with Fenerbache. The 28-year-old is the captain of Denmark national team and according to Turkish website Takvim.com Arsenal have offered € 12 million to sign him.

The Gunners, however, are not the only club interested in signing the highly rated centre-back who is also being eyed by AC Milan and Inter.

Both Serie A giants are looking for defence reinforcement although AC Milan have already signed Mateo Musacchio who is also a centre-back, whilst Inter are negotiating with Sampdoria over U21 Slovakia International Milan Skriniar.

Fenerbache are reportedly open to sell the player for a fee close to € 15 million which is just as much as Sampdoria demand for Skriniar, calciomercato.com exclusively reported yesterday. Kjaer has 84 Serie A appearances during his career. He has scored five goals and registered two assists during his time at Roma and Palermo.
