Arsenal ready to make a move for want-away Barca midfielder

Reports from Turkish paper AMK, via SkySports have today added momentum to the discussion of Arda Turan leaving Barcelona. The club now linked with his purchase is Arsenal, with the Gunners rumored to be ready to offer nearly 30 million EUR for the former Atletico midfielder who has never been able to hold down a regular starting position in his two years with the Catalan club. It had been suggested that Barca would no longer require the Turkish international beyond this season, and this summer should be the prime time for an exit from Barca and perhaps La Liga altogether.

Turan was a solid performer under Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid, and his consistent hard working performances were a big help to an already diligent group. His transfer to Barca was thought to have been a solid replacement for the exiting Xavi Hernandez, but things never panned out the way either the club or player had hoped. A move to a team like Arsenal, who are very much lacking a player with the qualities of the 30 year old Turkish player, could be the ideal solution for both clubs.
