Barca agree terms with €40m ex-Spurs midfielder, Neymar lobbied to sign him
Barcelona are set to make an offer for Paulinho in the coming days.
The former Tottenham man is currently plying his trade for Guangzhou Evergrande, but is happy to take a paycut in order to move back to Europe.
The Brazilian international has, according to Sport, accepted Barca’s offer of €5 million a year.
The Blaugrana are expecting to be able to land the star next week, and certainly before next Friday, when the Chinese transfer window closes.
Then again, so far the feelers they have sent haven’t encountered the expected result, the Chinese Super League side asking for €40 million, twice the €20m Barcelona are hoping to have to shell out.
The Catalans are definitely focussing on the 28-year-old, with Neymar lobbying the Nou Camp side to bring the former Corinthians player in.
Also targeted in the past by Milan and Inter, the Brazilian played 45 Premier League games between 2013 and 2015 at White Hart Lane.
