Barca want to accelerate in race for Man United target

Barcelona want to get a move on in the race for Ousmane Dembele, according to L’Equipe.

Robert Fernandez, the Blaugrana’s sporting director, has been in contact with Dembele’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, for a number of months.

The former Rennes player is also being chased by Manchester United.

The 20-year-old had a breakout season with the Borussia Dortmund, scoring ten goals in all competitions and adding 18 assists in all competitions.

Barcelona intend to make the most of Dembele’s good rapport with the German side. He also doesn’t seem to have taken Thomas Tuchel’s sacking very well, either.

Mundo Deportivo reported a while back that Fernandez had already met Sissoko in Barcelona, when PSG came to visit, and promptly lost 6-1.

Despite the awful result, Sissoko gave the move the green light, though there have been no developments since.

The 20-year-old cost Borussia €15 million last summer, having banged in 12 goals for Rennes in Ligue 1.
