Barcelona and Juventus handed transfer blow as Arsenal say defender ‘not for sale’

Barcelona and Juventus have one common problem this summer: they need to sign a replacement for Dani Alves who left the Camp Nou last summer and is set to do the same with Juventus in a few weeks. The Brazilian, in fact, has asked the Italian champions to cancel his contract by mutual agreement given that he has already agreed to join Manchester City.

Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin is known to be a target of both Barcelona and Juventus but according to the Independent the Spaniard won’t be allowed to leave the Emirates Stadium in the summer.

The British paper reports Arsenal want to block the Spaniard’s exit and have already informed Barcelona about their plans. Even if Bellerin pushes to leave Arsenal, the Gunners won’t be open to sell for less than € 50 million, a price-tag Barcelona won’t be able to match given that they are negotiating the acquisition of Marco Verratti who may cost them more than € 70 million.

Juventus would also struggle to match Arsenal’s asking price for Bellerin and have made Man Utd’s Matteo Darmian their top summer target to replace Dani Alves.
