Barcelona to call off Arsenal defender pursuit

Barcelona have decided that they will stop chasing Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin in 10 days’ time, following the side becoming frustrated with the Gunners reluctance to name a price for the speedster, according to Spanish outlet Mudo Deportivo via the Metro.

The La Liga giants are eager to strengthen their ‘weaker’ right-back positon and see the 22-year-old as a suitable option, especially considering Bellerin is a Spainish national and is a graduate of Barca’s La Masia.

The Spanish Under-21 international signed a long-term deal with the north-London club last October but rumours started to circulate ever since some of his family reportedly moved back to the Catalan city from the U.K.

The new Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde, though, is running out of patience and is growing concerned that the time and progress of this deal will have a significant impact on the Catalan side’s major transfer swoop for Marco Verratti from Paris Saint-Germain.
