Barcelona still interested in Tottenham star as Coutinho replacement

Barcelona are still interested in signing Dele Alli, Sport’s Albert Masnou confirms.

The Tottenham man had a sensational season last time round, netting 18 goals and establishing himself as one of the world’s most exciting midfielders.

Pep Segura and Barcelona’s recruiters have been following Alli since the summer - when the Blaugrana’s interest was first reported - while Real Madrid have also been linked to the 21-year-old.

Alli is seen as an alternative to Philippe Coutinho, who is still being targeted by the Catalans, who are however aware that getting him will be very difficult.

This explains why Tottenham are offering to extend Alli’s contract, and pay him almost double (90.000 a week as opposed to 50.000) in order to stave off any interest from Europe’s elite.

The fact that Alli is being courted by both Mino Raiola and Jorge Mendes (he’s broken off with his current management), and both are known for helping their clients land big moves.
