Reports out of Spain via Mundo Deportivo talk of discussions in the offices of Barça where two offers came for two midfielders: one for Sergi Roberto and another for André Gomes. Barca declined a very impressive offer by André Gomes, a player who did not have a great first season with the Catalan club, but he remains a player in whose potential they blindly trust.

The agent of the Portuguese player, Jorge Mendes, already met with Barca a few weeks ago to inform that there were three offers for the midfielder. One of them, according to Catalunya Ràdio, was 35 million EUR. MundoDeportivo report that in recent days Barca have received another proposal for André Gomes, this time for 45 million EUR, a price that would exceed the initial investment that Barça paid to Valencia for the Portuguese international.

In the case Sergi Roberto, Manchester City was willing to pay 35 million EUR. The response of Barça was very clear, Sergi Roberto is non-transferable. After the clear refusal of the Blaugrana club, the Manchester club discarded the versatile player trained in La Masia. Meanwhile, incoming coach Ernesto Valverde considers Roberto a basic player for his project, because of the player’s quality and versatility.
