Bayern target Atletico Madrid star as an alternative to Alexis Sanchez

As the quest to sign Arsenal play-maker Alexis Sanchez gets ever more complicated, L’Equipe reports that Bayern Munich have now turned their attentions to Atletico Madrid star Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco. The 23-year-old Belgian international forward is now understood to be coach Carlo Ancelotti’s primary target after being left frustrated in their chase for the Chilean.

Bayern chiefs have been talking to their Arsenal counterparts about a deal to bring Sanchez to Bavaria but have reportedly been left frustrated by the players wage demands and have now made a move for Carrasco.

The journal understands that the Bundesliga giants will table a £44M bid for the player who has been one of Diego Simeone’s key men since he arrived in the Spanish capital in 2015. There are more problems associated with the move however, and that is the fact that Atleti are banned from making any transfers until January 2018 due to the current restrictions imposed on them.

Simeone is unlikely to want to part with any of his prize assets this summer but never the less, the German champions look likely to test the water very soon.
