Berlusconi furious, Mihajlovic has one game to turn it around

Silvio Berlusconi had just two words for the journalists who asked him about Milan’s start to the seasom. “I’m disconsolate”, the Rossoneri president managed to tell Il Giornale.

According to the Milanese paper, Roberto Donadoni is the only name is the only name that has circulated so far were Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic to be sacked. The Giornale isn’t the only paper to make some interesting revelations following the Rossoneri’s embarrassing 4-0 capitulation at home to Napoli.

For the Corriere dello Sport, however, Milan’s shortlist is considerably more populated: beyond old flame Luciano Spalletti, Vincenzo Montella is also being considered, as is ex former player Christian Brocchi, who would be chaperoned by Marcello Lippi.

La Repubblica, meanwhile, claims that, though Mihajlovic is on thin ice, the Diavolo is alraedy shelling out a hefty 7 million (after tax) for coaches past and present. However, the Repubblica reports that Milan’s away to Torino could decide the Serbian coach’s fate.

Tuttosport makes an interesting point about the former Inter and Lazio player being isolated, a title openly asking whether the Rossoneri even have a management structure any more.

What’s certain is that Berlusconi is furious, and will be summoning Mihajlovic to Arcore soon for explanations. Worse, Sinisa’s Milan are five points short of Pippo’s charges last year… having spent €86 million to Inzaghi’s €16.3 million.

Having been touted as a defensive disciplinarian, Mihajlovic’s men have won fewer balls and made less tackles. To cap things off, the Corriere della Sera believes that Milan’s silence over the matter is a bad sign indeed for the Serbian.
