Bernardeschi was inches away from Juventus: the latest on his future destination

Federico Bernardeschi is playing some great football of late and he has now attracted the interest of many big European and Italian clubs. Inter want him and they had actually tried to get him last summer, Milan also want him but they will have to wait for the club's ownership closing. Juventus were inches away from getting him back in 2015 but then a move collapsed.

CLOSE TO JUVE - It was back in the spring of 2015 when Bernardeschi's contract was going to expire with Fiorentina in the summer of 2016. He was doing well with Crotone and the Marotta-Paratici duo tried to get him. Their plan was the following: take advantage of the fact that his contract was going to expire in 2016 and sign him in synergy with Sassuolo (in what would've been a formula similar to Berardi's). Juventus met with Bernardeschi's entourage many times and a deal was close to being finalized but then the player decided to stay with Fiorentina, which he believed was better for his development (as he then renewed his deal in Florence till 2019).

HIS FUTURE-  Fiorentina would love to keep him and they will give it their all to make this a reality. Ausilio's Inter remain to be in pole position but Milan are also ready to give it a real shot. And Juventus? They have had some contacts but it seems like it is the two Milan clubs who are the most active on this front. Will Fiorentina be able to resist again ?
