Ex Milan star Boban calls Inter's descision to off-load Perisic to Man Utd "absurd"

Always outspoken and always interesting; that’s former AC Milan and Croatia international midfielder Zvonimir Boban who has carved out a career as a pundit on Sky Italia and is now heavily involved with FIFA under the tutelage of president Gianni Infantino.

The 48-year-old has been speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport and one of the main topics of conversation is the imminent sale of his fellow countryman and Inter star Ivan Perisic who is reported to be close to joining Manchester United. When he was asked to give his opinion on the player he stated that; “He’s been one of Inter’s most important players over the past two seasons. He’s got energy, and is always dangerous in attack and he’s a serious guy”.

So when asked to comment about his reported sale to the Red Devils this summer, Boban gave his usual frank assessment when he explained that; “I cannot believe that it’s possible for Inter to want to sell him. If you make a decision like this then it’s obvious you know very little about football. For me it’s an absurd choice if they believe both tactically and technically that Perisic should not stay in this team”.

He was slightly more upbeat about Inter’s imminent appointment of Luciano Spalletti as their new head coach when he declared that; “Who else is really available? He will bring a structure and organisation to the club for sure”.
