Borussia want Arsenal striker if Aubameyang leaves

Borussia Dortmund consider Olivier Giroud to be their transfer priority, according to Le 10 Sport.

The out-of-favour Arsenal striker has been earmarked as the Bundesliga challengers’ main target up front if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leaves.

The PSG, Milan, Real Madrid and Liverpool target is being linked to a departure this summer, which would leave the Yellow & Black without an established striker.

Dortmund were actually interested in Anthony Modeste (formerly of Blackburn Rovers), who has become a Bundesliga superstar in recent years, scoring 40 Buli goals over the last two seasons for Koln.

With the 29-year-old leaving for China, however, Giroud is back on the menu. Borussia have established a deadline for Aubameyang’s departure, and are waiting a few days in order to see what happens.

Giroud scored 12 Premier League goals last season, despite only making eleven starts with the Gunners. Mostly bench material, the Frenchman recently emphasized that he wants to stay and fight for a starting spot at the Emirates.
