Breaking: Antonio Cassano announces retirement, again

Antonio Cassano has announced his retirement from football for the second time in one week. The former Roma and Real Madrid star had already decided to end his playing career one week ago but he withdrew his decision a few hours after his announcement.

Cassano, 35, has now changed his mind again and has officially announced that he is going to hang his boots, ending his playing career.

“I have to deny what my wife has previously said through social media”, Cassano wrote on the official Twitter account of his wife Carolina Macialis.

“Carolina made a mistake, I thought about it and I have decided to retire from football. I am sorry and I apologize with the city of Verona, with the president Maurizio Setti, with the Sporting director Filippo Fusco and with manager Fabio Pecchia as well as
my teammates and the coaching staff.”

“Motivations are everything for a 35-year-old man and right now I want to stay close to my family, my children and wife.”
